Festival visionary PERRY FARRELL, in conjunction with Chile’s Lotus Producciones, WME and C3 Presents--the promotional partners behind the North American LOLLAPALOOZA—are pleased to announce the line-up for the inaugural LOLLAPALOOZA CHILE in South America. Headliners THE KILLERS, JANE´S ADDICTION and KANYE WEST plus the YEAH YEAH YEAHS are among the 50-plus acts performing on five stages at the two-day festival on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3 in O’Higgins Park, Santiago.

For close to 20 years as the premier alternative music festival, LOLLAPALOOZA is expanding with this unique and unforgettable event. With an eclectic lineup of top talent from around the world including an array of artists from Chile, LOLLAPALOOZA CHILE will feature two outdoor main stages, an electronic arena stage and a small alternative stage, plus--like LOLLAPALOOZA in North America—an all-ages Kidzapalooza stage for family fun. Similar to its Chicago home Grant Park, O'Higgins Park is a gorgeous scenic locale in the middle of a bustling urban hub. FARRELL also emphasizes that LOLLAPALOOZA will partake in a "cultural exchange," by featuring Chilean artists at this summer's North American LOLLAPALOOZA in Chicago.

Assembling this distinguished line-up of acts for the debut of LOLLAPALOOZA CHILE was no easy feat. Says FARRELL, who will perform with both JANE’S ADDICTION and his electronic hybrid PERRYETTY, “The job we did to gather these artists for 2011 was remarkable. Imagine gathering 60 artists while the contract ink is still wet. We put it together at a record pace as we had four months. We did not want to come to Chile with a lineup that was anything other than world-class, and my partners Marc Geiger of WME and Charles Attal of C3 have been absolutely integral to Lollapalooza Chile launching in 2011. Our selections are very animated, with much diversity. There is Chilean talent in the mix. Now that the lineup is announced here, we are going back to Chile to work on the other aspects of the festival.” Adds FARRELL: “Our ambition is to plant a very strong seed in Chile. One that will grow over the years, and provide Santiago with an event for the ages.”

Lollapalooza:

Perry Farrell:
Perry Farrell is one of the most influential and original musical figures in recent history. Dubbed as the "Godfather of Alternative Rock,” Farrell fronts Jane's Addiction which formed in 1985. Creating a new genre and musical movement, Farrell and Jane's Addiction changed the music scene and paved the way for bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and STP. In 1993, Perry created Porno for Pyros, a daring evolution to his diversity and growth. As well as being a groundbreaking musician, he is the creator and founder of Lollapalooza. Launched in 1991, SPIN magazine listed Lollapalooza as the #1 tour that changed the world. Known for its musical diversity, Lollapalooza was instrumental in exposing alternative music formats to the masses and establishing a sense of commonality across a fragmented demographic. The first of its kind, Lollapalooza quickly established itself as a lifestyle festival, pushing the envelope and exposing concert goers to a subculture of 'alternative' living and art, and provided a platform for numerous environmental and human-rights causes as well. As a constant creative force, Farrell continues to push his own artistic horizon as a music producer, electronic music performer and visual artist, as well as a rock icon.

Pocos días van quedando para recibir por primera vez uno de los shows más esperados en nuestro país, el concierto de Rage Against The Machine del próximo 11 de octubre.

Zack de la Rocha, Tom Morello, Tim Commerford y Brad Wilk no estarán solos. Omar Rodríguez-López y Cedric Bixler-Zavala se unen a la jornada de rock con el enérgico show deThe Mars Volta, banda que por primera vez llegará a nuestro país haciendo un show completo.

Los segundos invitados son Suicidal Tendencies, los mismos que acompañaron a RATM en su primera gira por Europa antes de que lanzarán su álbum debut.

Además de la confirmación de los teloneros, se anuncia el cambio de recinto, de la Elipse del Parque O’Higgins pasa al Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida.

“La idea es potenciar el espectáculo en su máxima expresión”, señala la producción. “El recinto otorga una mayor seguridad a sus asistentes y posee una visibilidad perfecta desde cualquier lugar del estadio, los espectadores estarán más cerca del escenario y podrán sentir la fuerza de RATM y de la multitud como en ningún otro lugar”.

El cambio de recinto permite abrir nuevas localidades a la venta, las que estarán disponibles desde el martes 7 de septiembre en Puntoticket y SoldOut (sin recargo). Quienes tengan dudas con su entrada, deben comunicarse con Puntoticket o SoldOut.

Easy Star All-Stars en Chile


La destacada agrupación de reggae se presentó en Chile el 03 de Diciembre en el Teatro Caupolicán. Fue una jornada de más de 8 horas de música con lo mejor de Quique Neira, Boomer y Amilcar Nadal, entre otros artistas.

Al día siguiente, Easy Star se presentó exitosamente junto a Quique Neira, Santibando y Chinoy en Arena de Puerto Montt en la versión sureña del One Spring Festival 2009.


EASY STAR ALL-STARS están de regreso en nuestro país para presentar su más reciente obra: “Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band”, placa en que tributan a The Beatles. La original agrupación de jamaicanos y estadounidenses debutó en Chile el 27 de Mayo de 2007 ante un agotado Movistar Arena. En aquella ocasión mostraron sus elogiados tributos ‘Radiodread’ (homenaje a Radiohead) y ‘Dub Side of the Moon’ (tributo a Pink Floyd); esta vez regresaron en el contexto de su gira mundial, denominada “Lonely Hearts World Tour”.

En esta ocasión participaron en el contexto del ONE Spring Festival:

Tricky (Tricky Adrian Thaws) nació en Bristol en 1964. Huerfano desde pequeño, su carrera comenzó junto a Massive Attack, con quienes participó en su primer disco, "Blue Lines", en 1991. Posteriormente iniciaria la que hasta hoy ha sido su prolífica carrera en solitario. Su primer y excelente album "Maxinquaye" se publicaría en 1995, precedido del single Aftermath que vio la luz en 1994 y que es uno de sus temas más conocidos.

Tras la publicación de varios singles de su primer album, llegó el esperado segundo disco de larga duración, "Nearly God", en 1996, que contó con colaboraciones tan valiosas como Björk o Neneh Cherry.

El mismo año lanza su tercer album,"Pre-Millennium Tension", más oscuro y emotivo.

En 1998 publica su cuarto album, "Angels With Dirty Faces" y al poco tiempo el quinto, "Juxtapose", dos discos enmarcados en la ruptura con su antigua discográfica, Island, que concluyo en 1999. En ellos también contó con la compañía de DJ Muggs (Cypress Hill) o Mad Dog.

En 2001, "Blowback", que si bien sigue siendo un album electrónico, se aleja de los anteriores y se adentra más en el rock, utilizando guitarras (nada menos que la de John Frusciante) varios temas y con colaboraciones como Alanis Morissete o Cindy Lauper.

Llega a Chile, presentando su último disco Knowle West Boy.

Rakim & Ken-Y se están preparando para su próximo concierto a realizarse en el Coliseo de Puerto Rico el próximo 15 de febrero, ocasión muy especial pues estarán celebrando junto a sus fans el día de los enamorados.

Sin embargo, Rakim dejó claro que este concierto no será para estrenar el nuevo ábum, sino que cantarán los éxitos “clásicos” cosechados a lo largo de su carrera como “Down”, “Llorarás” y “Me matas”.

“El concierto no tiene nada que ver con el disco, porque será un regalo de los temas que se han hecho número uno, a base de muchos invitados”, dijo RKM, quien, por cierto, no quiso revelar quiénes serán los artistas que participarán en el concierto.

MORODO POR PRIMERA VEZ EN CHILE

Morodo y su banda Ranking Soldiers (España) por primera vez en Chile fue el invitado principal al Festival 4 países el pasado 15 de octubre en el Teatro Caupolicán.

En el marco del Festival de los 4 paises llegó a Chile lo mejor del Hip Hop – Reggae. El plato fuerte fue el esperado MC español Morodo, con su banda compuesta por 8 músicos.

Además participaron la cantante de reggae argentina Alika & la Nueva Alianza,
el MC mexicano Jah Fabio,
la banda chilena Boomer y el Sindicato de la Danza,
